I am the mother of 2 young children. I hold a J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and am a licensed attorney. I am also a Masters of Public Health Candidate from the University of California Berkeley, School of Public Health. I am passionate about immunization as a mother, lawyer and member of our society.
In 2012, I found my passion: vaccination and vaccine advocacy. I began researching the anti-vaccine movement and various types of anti-vaccine speech on the Internet. I became appalled at the amount of misleading, and outright false, information about vaccine safety and effectiveness that is out there. Because of the amount of misinformation out there, it is understandable why so many parents these days have worries about vaccine safety. But the truth is that vaccines are safe, and more importantly they save lives. It is important that parents know the truth about vaccines and that they make the decision to vaccinate their kids with confidence that this is the best medical, and ethical, choice.
